I took
this photo when I traveled to Easter Island in the last holidays, and in the
picture appears the Rano Raraku volcan, but as you can imagine, on the picture
only appears the outside of volcano. This photo shows the outside of Rano
Raraku volcano and you can see the place where the islanders made all the moais
of the island. This is very important because from this place they transported
the moais to all places of the island. For this reason in the picture you
can see some moais that are fallen on grass and others are standing. Also in
Rano Raraku there are 397 moai in various stages of development and it seems as
if the sculptors left the job abruptly and could come back at any moment, for
this reason, you can see some moais that are carved in the rock. I like this
place because it is very important in the history of the island, also the Rano
Raraku is very beautiful and from here you can see others places as Tongariki
where there are fifteen moais.
